Blog for a reason...
saw kal ho na ho last nite...again...i know it mite not be the greatest movie...and i am not the kind that gets easily moved by nething...but i dunno why i get so depressed after watching this one...and continue watching it!!!...something like inflicting pain on oneself and u derive this strange satisfaction...hehe...
was just wondering...why do u blog??i mean some ppl blog to have it as a personal diary...these are the " I will write in detail about ething that happened today" bloggers.
Then u have the ones that take up one particular issue, which mite not really be controversial but by the end of blime* (which is blog time - the time that is allowed for others to comment) it snowballs into this huge disastrous thing.
* - sorry i just liked the sound of blime...so xcusez...
You also have blogs that are funny...every incident is made out to be straight out of a "friends" or a "seinfeld"..these are the time pass blogs...
You have blogs that basically are very vague... and are just bits and pieces of everything or nothing....
You have some blogs that are plain boring (no offense)...then there are others that are a mix of all of the above..
Then there are blogs that talk about other blogs...like mine:)....
well the point being...no matter what kind of blogger a person is...evryone.....no matter what he or she says...everyoneee wants someone to comment on their blog..I know some ppl mite say that they blog for themselves and dont care if its popular or not...would neone actually blog on the net and hope that no one would read it?
Ok i shud probably rephrase the "everyone wants someone to comment on their blog" to "everyone would rather that someone commented on their blog to not having comments at all" ....well this is probably just my observation of bloggers around me and ppl i know....i cud be wrong...there cud ppbly be a Howard Roark in blogdom...

Well my blog was a personal journal for a very long time...and I had taken away the comment option for several months....but yeah at one point I decided I wanted to make mine public and share views with others....and thereby see if anyone reads.
I have to accept that it's nice to get feedback and comments...especially from a bunch of bloggers who keep revisiting.
I'd like to go on the record and say....I really love the blog buddies I have at this point of time, i cherish their comments, ( even if they are one liners) some of them are so cool and nice that I wish I bump into them at some point of my life...over a beer perhaps? Now I'm gonna cry.. *Sniff* *Sniff*...
hmmmm....lotsa times this question comes up...why do u bog...
I dont really know. When I started out it was more of an extension of my oersonal journal that I still maintainm as I spent more time on the comp than on paper!! But then as people started commenting...some sort of a relationship developed with them....
Infact I wrote abt my thoughts on this blogging issue..... http://chandni.wordpress.com/2006/02/01/of-journals-and-blogs/
Do check it out!!
@Reflexions: LOL :)
Hey..Good question....For me my blog is not my personal diary at all....it may infact be everything but that and maybe a couple of personal incidents wriiten because someone wanted to know....'
I also know it is a bore but I would like to think I wrote down things tht bother me, could be an issue , could be something nice but mostly issues and feelings as I talk a lot and this is one method of doing it..Talk to the comp and others talk to you...
Ofcourse I am tired of pesudo comments tht say this n tht N I am sure I do tht too without giving an honest opinion but if i do a controversial opinion it gets into a long argument n is fun.....
Well, reading your last 2 posts, you dont come out as a perosn who writes about others blogs....You had some real serious topics of discussion and I loved it, not a pseudo comment BTW!!
Watch Mera Naam Joker if you thought Kal Ho Na ho was depressing...now that was a superbly depressing movie. Love it.
@hackt - yea i believe u:P...kidding....
@reflextion - " ....I really love the blog buddies I have at this point of time, i cherish their comments" ...awwwwwwwww.....
@chandni and everyone else - i am NOT related to Kaavya!!...will chk out ur link tho:)
@scribblez - thankssuu (think i need to foolow Jack's method)....no way...keep the nice things coming in babe....they are NOT pseud!...ON a more serious note...it feels good in a way that u have a bunch of ppl regularly visiting coz u really think before writing (i shuddd do something abt tht)...
@saaransh - u want me to cry buckets?!!!i cried at kal ho na ho man.....me is not watching MNJ atleast for the next coupla days...hey dude maybe u shud blog abt things tht make u cry:) and thigns tht make u happy..
@saaransh - sorry actually i have watched MNJ and i didnt cry at all....its just SRK and all the sadness i guess:(
I cant believe that u find SRK's acting genuine enuf to cry.I kno I'l be killed by SRK fans for saying this but dont u think his movies(the later ones) are a bit phony?
well the movies arent phoney..i agree that they are over the top at times...but arent movies movies exaggerated??who doesnt like a bit of drama...
Hah! I thot I was the only 1 out there who watched depressing, i.e when-he-dies-at-the-end) SRK movies when I'm feeling down ;-) Another one I like is Dil Se, for the same weird reason.
Hi there,
Firstly thanks fr dropping in my blog & hope 2 c ya more often! And next I just loved ur name....sounds v.interesting!
Had fun reading this post of urs. I was trying to analyse y I started blogging! For me to be honest, I started just fr the hec of it...something new so y not give it a try? Also I've always wanted to write...cos I know Im not a big writer but still like to venture into it...so those were the reasons fr me 2 start....but now its become like an addiction!!!
I like to hear what others gotta say & share views n opinions abt everything under the sky! :)
And sorry forgot 2 mention...u got an alphabet waiting 4 u in my blog!! :D
@has to be me - welcome aboard!..yea its actually good fun to read what others have to say!...the feeling of connecting with ppl u dont know is a cool....
and thanks for the letter..will have to do some thinking now.....
@fresh ink - yeah yeahhhhhh u like SRK too....awesome....yeah even tho dil se did not become a hit i loved the movie...
hey thanks for visiting my blog. I do like when my comment section grows. But I like it when there is something intelligent in those comment.
Man is a social animal, afterall and we all like to network and connect with new people.. isnt it ?
About the kal ho na ho... I will not comment on that. A bad comment on introduction day isnt exactly polite behaviour. So will save my bile for another day :)
meanwhile, I am Vasu
vasu
I certainly blog for fame or whatever bit of fame I get from blogging...
As for but i dunno why i get so depressed after watching this one...and continue watching it!!! ... well of all the creatures in the world only women are capable of seeing somethign that cmakes them cry and ENJOY it... you are a gal so thats why. Just kidding :)
@vasu - no problemo...feel free to comment...tht why i get to argue:P...kidding...
@sj - haha well thts wht i mean...i normally DONT cry...even for " the movie that tugs and pulls at the strings of ur heart" kinda movies....but kal ho na ho....sighhhhh..ok i will not go on about the huuugeeee crush i had on SRK since his fauji days here...but nevertheless...and i have guy frnds who cry at ....hold ur breath...titanic....so there!!!!
the first time I started blogging I didn't mention it to a soul..and then when someone actually did leave me a comment I freaked out and deleted my blog. Stupid I know!!
The second time (now) I didn't really tell any of my friends again, but a lot of my fiends were already blogging by then that it was almost inevitable for them not to know.
As hard as it maybe to believe to some people, it doesn't really matter whether or not people leave comments, coz that way when it says '0 comments' it doesn't matter to you at all!!
@j - well yea initially i wished no one wud read it too...coz i did blog abt personal stuff which all seems like crap now neways...now tht there are ppl visiting..it tends to be more general....its not a conscious shift but i guess it happens!!!...and honestly i must say tht i do feel a litttleeee bad if i see the "0 comments" thingy:)
Yes well said. My sentiments exactly and I like your blog. It's a little bit of this and little bit of that. Comme ci comme ca!
Then you need better guy friends :)
@c'est la vie - merci beaucoup...sorry ur frnch just inspired moi:P..hehe
@sj - hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I lOOVEEEEE MY GUYYY FRIENDSSSSSS...ok sorry too much overactions and all....u believe tht boys dont cry?!!!..comeon dont temme u havent done tht,,,,
your next post should be "and there are some people who do not have a life or a blog and they choose to abuse bloggers instead."
you know what Im talkin about.
;)
@the Wannabe indian punkster - hehe...tht shud also include people who try and advise others on everything from emotion control to crystals to giving up "being opiniated"....if u wish to be led into the path of enlightenment, reas comments on the other posts:)
we can remake KHNH with SRK suffering from a severe bloggers block instead of some form of cancer, that way he wont die and you can see the movie again and again and end up laughing instead of crying...
and comments serve to be appreciation / depreciation for your piece of work called the "post" so i guess the more the better... sahi naa? and scribz has already given you gyaan about comments and pseudo form of comments so "no comments"
You know thats one big mistake you did, ask my opinion on Kal ho na ho.. Generally these opinions dont required to be asked.. I give it free and in large measures. But offlate, I have been advised (by a fellow blogger) to keep off conterversial topics. Hence on a strict diet of how much to talk about a subject. Actually tryng to see weather being superfecial has its benifits.
Anyway since today is my off day and I am allowed to drink (not binge), dance and throw highly opinionated crap on anyone who asks.. here it goes. All because you asked ok.. :)
I think Karan johar, shah rukh khan and his movies are the worst thing ever to happen to India. They come to represent all that is wrong with our country. No originality but just candy floss bs, these moveis really impinge on my right to lead a peaceful life. Why ? because they are so popular among the teen crowd and expat "pyar crowd" that India and Indians have been hijacked by what these two jokers portray.. That impinges on how people view me as an Indian. Its a real pain answering people all the time how not everyone in India is a shahrukh khan fan and how there can exist Indians who dont like movies like "Humara dil aapke papa ke paas hai.."
Its grossly embaressing.. I strictly maintain a km distance from these movies.
I hope I havent offended you.. Everyone is so touchy these days.
vasu
@iyer - cool...u shud write a book calld the book of iyerdeas:P...what with the Taj mahal expln as well...as for the no comments on the comments thingy...sahi boss!
@vasu - naah fcourse u havent....its ur opinion!...besides iu agree that the karan johar movies dont exactly portray India..but then again they are just time pass movies that make ppl feel good and cry a bit...as long as theres no harm...sure it feeds in on pseudo patriotism..and it does especially well in the NRI places...personally i dont see ne harm..just tht an overdose wud too mucho!!... honestly i wud watch such a movie to watching independence day...
there are also blogs that write quality stuff. Political blogs, intellectual blogs and son. But yes, blogging basically started as a online diary idea, butthe meaning has expanded. Nice blog, btw. Like it.
@am - thankuu...o yes the blogging community is oh so increasing by the minute!...its like u bump into someone u know at some point or the other..
A good blog is one i like - me being perfect and all...
nah j/k. A blog is like a home or building, it can have any purpose/function/style/design but it needs to be sustained.
I dont like blogs that are like a studio apartment - a little bit of writing, too many posters and postit notes, some random trivia and a little cooking too.
A blog should be like an art gallery, and office, a kitchen, a lounge room, a veranda.
@ fatty - wow u neva cease to amaze me woman....like ur blog and ur comments...and no pseudo comment this:)
@generally speaking - thank ya:)..welcome aboard!...and u do have some "interesting" experiences to blog abt i must say:P
